Nyx McLean

Dr Nyx McLean is a rated transdisciplinary researcher who writes queerly about the internet, digital communities, and social movements with an emphasis on troubling digital technology from an anti-racist queer feminist position. A key area of interest for them is feminist internet research methodologies and ethics of care frameworks. They were recently involved in the Feminist Internet Research Network’s Meta-Research Project which sought to establish a framework for conducting feminist internet research. Nyx’s current research makes use of this framework in seeking to gain a sense of transgender, non-binary and gender diverse people experiences of online gender-based violence to better inform responses to online gender-based violence. They are a Research Associate at Rhodes University in the School of Journalism
